Substitutions.....
Alan from N.Y. City inquires...."I've ordered from places before and received a substitution for the item or items I ordered. One time I even got a different color ink than I ordered! What is your policy?
At Passion4Pens.com,Inc., you are going to get what you ordered. We do NOT substitute. If an item is out of stock and there is another alternative, we will email you to review the options. Also, NO substitution is made in color of ink requested. Hope that answers your question.

Convertible RB/BP pens....
From Laura B. in Atlanta: I'm considering purchasing a MonteVerde convertible RB/BP pen, but am a little confused. What does that term "convertible" mean in regards to this type of pen?
Dear Laura B....."Convertible" indicates that it can take a refill of one type, such as a rollerball ink refill, as well as another type, such as a ballpoint ink refill. Most "convertible" pens will take a refill that has a common configuration or shape, such as a parker-style refill. Monte Verde convertible RB/BP pens usually will take a rollerball ink refill such as Schmidt SuperBowl refill or a parker-style ballpoint ink refill such as Schneider Express 735, Parker brand or Schmidt P900 or P950. In addition, any pen that takes parker-style ballpoint refill will also take a parker-gel style refill such as Parker brand gel refill or Schneider Gelion#39 gel refill. Hope you enjoy the flexibility of ink refills for this type of pen.

Special ink refill request....
A client from Minnesota writes........"if possible, please put in black-fine refills in the pens I ordered".
Unfortunately, each ballpoint pen comes with a standard ink refill. We are unable to "switch out" refills and are unable to make the requested switch. Ballpoint pen ink refills of various colors and tip sizes are readily availabe on the website.

Dried rollerball ink
John from Des Plaines, IL writes...."I've got a really nice rollerball pen as a promotional gift. However, when I tried to use it, the ink is dry! I see that the ink refill is a Schneider® Topball 850 and when I went to the Schneider webpage, I found out that they guarantee this refill for two years. Why is mine dry?"
REPLY..... Hi John. I do get a lot of similar questions and it is a great one. Makes you feel like the company "ceated you". The problem is that it is not the refill manufacturer that has the problem, but the promotional pen manufacturer. The pen manufacturer/promotional pen people buy these pens and the place what ever rollerball refills they want to in the pen. Now the clock starts ticking as these refills are exposed to the air and elements. Do you know how long these pens were on the shelf before they even got to you? You need to ask the promotional pen people these questions. I would bet they were sitting around for quite awhile. It would be best to keep the refill out of the pen and keep it capped and let the person who receives the pen remove the cap and insert the refill. Hope this helps...contact the pen promotional people who gave you the pen and ask them to replace the refill. As a seller of a lot of Schneider® Topball 850 05 refills, I and Schneider stand behind their product. So, if you get a defective refill from Passion4Pens.com,Inc. all you need to do is to send it back to us and a replacement will go out to you. The problem refill will be sent to Schneider for quality control. Take a look at these great refills:http://www.passion4pens.com/site/735447/product/08501Schneider

What is a "convertible rollerball pen"?
Jennine from Spokane, Washington asks the above question.
The term "convertible rollerball pen" indicates that this particular pen will take any refill that is configured like a "parker-style" ballpoint refill. This configuration may take ballpoint, gel or rollerball ink. Examples are many of the "convertible rollerball pens" offered by MonteVerde.
Remember that ANY pen that takes a "parker-style" ballpoint refill configuration will take a similar configured gel or rollerball ink refill. Look for refills such as MonteVerde® SoftRoll® fits Parker®, MonteVerde®Capless Ceramic Gel fits Parker®, Schneider® Express 735 ballpoint refills, as well as Schmidt® SuperBowl RB refills and Schmidt®9000 Easy Flow, to mention a few.
