Acme�: "Horizontal Bars" rollerball pen, design Cesar Pelli
CESAR PELLI, born and educated in Argentina, earned a degree in architecture from the University of Tucumon and went on to receive his masters from the University of Illinois. He was project designer for the TWA terminal at JFK airport from 1964-1968, and was director of design at DMJM in Los Angeles, Pelli has received several design awards, including an award for designing the American Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. In 1977, he became dean at Yale School of Architecture. Resigning in 1984 to pursue a full-time practice at his own firm, Pelli designed the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood. He is the subject of many published and exhibited works. His most recent accomplishment was the completion of the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lampur, Malyasia, which have the status of the world's tallest buildings.
