Acme: "Zorble Five" Roller Ball Pen design by Marty Kenney
MARTY KENNEY was born in 1975, and grew up in upcountry Maui, Hawaii. A graphic designer by trade, he owns and operates Mantis Artworks, based out of Maui. His style is hard to define as he incorporates a wide variety of subject matter in his work, which is created using diverse mediums such as digital imaging, pen and ink, spray paint, photo-montage, acrylic, colored pencils, or just about any materials which happen to be in front of him. He describes his work as "fragmented diagrams of biomechanic tribal alien graffiti". Others have noted that the clustered and chaotic compositions of his work demand constant visual attention, yet at the same time, force the viewer's eyes to wander in an observational frenzy. He has worked at ACME Studios as a graphic artist since 1997.
