Les Couleurs du Léman: Who better than Caran d'Ache® to create a line of writing instruments in the most dazzling shades? The “Couleurs du Léman” line is a product of the company’s expertise in fine arts; a true celebration of colour that reveals the harmonies of extraordinary pigments. Flamboyant red, pink, saffron, midnight blue, Carbon black, all with a brilliant lacquer finish beautifully set off by the sparkle of silvered and rhodium-coated fitment. The fountain pen, the roller pen, the ballpoint and the mechanical pencil all have a silky smooth lacquer coating their gently rounded shape. And the “line” decoration of the silver-plated cap or rotating mechanism emphasizes the pen’s refined design. The shades of the pens in the “Les Couleurs du Léman” range have been carefully considered, compared and chosen from all the possible variations, based on the strength of their pigments, their unique qualities, and the feelings they communicate. Technical description The fountain pen, the roller pen, the ballpoint and the mechanical pencil all have a silky smooth lacquer coating their gently rounded shape. And the “line” decoration of the silver-plated cap or rotating mechanism emphasises the pen’s refined design. Each element of these pens, which are entirely produced in the company’s Geneva workshops, demonstrates “Swiss Made” quality. A spring-loaded clip gives them great flexibility and ensures a long service life. The silvered parts are coated with rhodium, a rare, difficult-to-extract metal in the platinum family that is some ten times more expensive then gold. Its exceptional hardness gives the metallic elements maximum protection against scratching or scraping. And because it does not oxydise, it ensures that Caran d’Ache writing instruments never lose their wonderfully brilliant shine. The Léman Bicolor Saffron is fitted either with an ink pump or a cartridge. The 18-carat gold nib is available in three different widths: fine, medium & broad. The rollerball uses a roller point cartridge. The ballpoint contains a high-precision rotating mechanism. It is fitted with the famous “Goliath” giant cartridge which has a capacity of writing, without dribbles or blots, up to 600 A4 pages. The mechanical pencil, with its proven, high-precision rotating mechanism, contains leads of 0.7mm diameter.
